Towel Rails
Beautiful in design and very functional a hydronic towel rail is a very popular choice for most bathrooms. Not only does it give you a stylish place to hang your towels and keep them warm, but also provides your bathroom with enough heat to keep you warm during the coldest winter. Many people though have some questions about heated towel rails. So much so that we’ve included below the most popular two and answered them for you.
Q ~ Will a towel rail heat up our entire bathroom? A ~ Yes, a hydronic towel rail when sized up correctly will effectively keep your bathroom warm, and in turn the towels on it. You will need no other form of heating for the bathroom. If you’ve heard that a towel rail doesn’t heat a room up it’s quite possible that it is an electric towel rail not a hydronic towel rail. Electric towel rails are just designed to warm towels, nothing more. Only the two vertical tubes are heated. However with a hydronic towel rail the entire towel rail fills with hot water providing abundant heat for your damp towels to get dry and for your bathroom to be toasty warm.
Q ~ Do white towel rails produce more heat than chrome ones? A ~ Yes, but when a chrome towel rail is sized correctly it will still heat the entire bathroom, you will normally need a larger chrome towel rail compared to white. For most people though that’s a good thing, you can fit more towels on there!
